I went to Dr Chapman's office for my first ever gynecological exam. I am 18 and was a little nervous but my mom made my appointment and I was interested in possibly getting an IUD so I had to do it.... I really liked the office. It was very pretty with beautiful views that brightly lighted up their waiting area. The staff was so nice and very helpful! Carly greeted me with a warm smile that made me feel comfortable and then Ciane, called me to check me in ... Ciane helped calm all my nerves and answered a lot of my basic questions. She said I would be seeing Alicia to do my pelvic exam and if I decided, put in the IUD. When I met Alicia, all my anxiety was gone. She had the best bedside manner! She didn't rush my questions, seemed totally intrested in what I was saying and truly seemed to care. I may seem like I needed to be babied but your first pelvic exam is SCARY!!! Dr Chapmans office, everyone there including staff that wasn't directly helping me, were so awesome!!! Overall, amazing experience and I definitely recommend them!
I had the worst experience with Dr. Chapman. I NEVER write online bad reviews but I am currently looking for a dr. and thought this might me helpful. I miscarried at 11 weeks, I started to hemorrhage, went to the hospital at 4 pm. They called her, and called her and called her. My bleeding never let up, I needed a DNC but she was the only one authorized to do that that night because she was the on-call dr. I needed two blood transfusions, they said that she would be in to "approve them" She never came. They tried getting the baby to pass by giving me pitocin and other drugs but it wouldnt pass. My vitals were too low to give my any pain medicine with pitocin so I was totally aware of everything going on. I finally passed the baby at noonish the following day. AFTER bleeding insane amounts all night (Ive had another miscarriage before and I know what "normal" gushing looks like). Finally at 3 she walked in and said "do you still want your blood transfusions?" and then she said "I wouldnt start trying for a few months because you lost so much blood." And walked out. I was pretty shocked at the lack of empathy (I just lost a baby) and the fact that she literally did not care that I almost bled to death. I had (very angry with the situation and lack of response) nurses (at the risk of being fired) offer me all of my medical info telling me that I had a "case" if I wanted to pursue and sue for malpractice. I would never ever trust her with my life.
Want an office that will make you feel like what you want or need isn't important? This is the place! My birth was rescheduled last minute to work around the doctors change of plans, regardless of the fact that I was willing to switch doctors to keep the schedule that was made 2 months prior! Not only did they make this change despite my insistence not to, they lied when I called back to plea for reconsideration. I was told that I was probably mistaken about the scheduling in the first place, that it had always been scheduled on the reschedule date. I did try to switch doctors, but I could not find an office that would see me for a cesarean at 37 weeks pregnant. Now that the process is over, this office will not see me again.
