It's a decent commissary... avoiding paydays is always best of course. They like moving things around to mess with you I think lol. Usually ok on fresh produce, if they have it. I feel like there is always some sign up saying something is out due to some storm, labor issue, broken coolers etc.
Every time I go into this commissary the cashiers are completely rude. Today the card reader was not working at the self checkout and the cashier told me to leave my 4 year old in the cart, leave my groceries and walk to a different register to pay real quick. Needless to say I politely told her that I was not going to leave my groceries and damn sure not going to leave my child. She got offended and began to get rude with me. This is not the first time this has happened, especially with this particular individual. It is almost worth spending the extra money to go shopping out in town just to avoid the stress that the MCBH commissary creates during every visit.
I like shopping at the commissary. Great deals on some items. Walking distance from my home is an added bonus.
I can get all my groceries here almost everytime. Sometimes stock is low or out, but I have found that is rarely the case in the middle of the week. Rarely have waited in line longer than a couple minutes. Prices can rarely be beat.
The people working there always seem nice though
This commissary is a lot easier to get around then the Pearl Harbor commissary. Their produce selection is not that great but it is definitely cheaper than anything you'll find at a farmers market. I wish they had a larger Deli with some more hot to to-go selections. Other than that this is a great place to shop on Oahu.
