I got treatment at OSR for over a year due to shoulder/neck pain. When I first went into OSR, they gave me X-Rays and established that I have forward-head carriage or "text neck" and needed to strengthen my posture muscles. Not only were they all amazing at explaining the condition, but they explained in detail what I needed to do to improve it and why. The massage therapists are amazing at trigger point. Chalei & Mika are great at listening to you whether during trigger point or an awesome therapeutic massage. Emily in medical makes you feel comfortable during trigger point injections (something I was nervous about). The front desk girls and patient services are knowledgeable and helpful. Dr. Mac is an awesome chiropractor and listens to you to know what you're wanting from your adjustment. Scott in rehab is great about keeping you accountable in your at-home exercises while also noticing your improvements in your work at the office! Jae is great at answering questions and explaining the medical side of what you're feeling and why during your physical therapy evaluations. The only bad thing about OSR is that I couldn't bring the whole staff with me when I moved!! :) Would absolutely recommend OSR to anyone in Hawaii that is dealing with pain.
Friendly staff, welcoming environment, and affordable care. I have suffered from low back pain for almost 20 years, and after 6 months of physical therapy combined with Chiropractic care at OSR my pain was reduced significantly in my lower back. It takes time and dedication for an old injury, but it was worth the effort!
I have seen several chiropractors through the years. Military and civilian. Including my last military station where the chiro and physical therapy were in the same building, OSR is the only one that actually coordinates care between the two. They also offer acupuncture and message treatments. The VA suggested acupuncture therapy for pain management instead of narcotic medication, which I cannot take due to the side effects. Dr. Machado is wonderful. Jason does an awesome job with Trigger Point Therapy, as does Mika. The girls at the front desk are always cheery and welcoming. Sara is great with coordinating insurance referrals and authorization, especially those submitted via the VA and/or the VA Choice program. The Physical Therapy staff is also great. You don't always get the same therapist but they always review previous notes and asks questions on how you are feeling before, and during treatment. This is a great benefit when they are adding new exercises to your routine. If you are tired of driving to several different facilities for all your care, switch to OSR. One stop and you get it all. I had my first acupuncture treatment with Ms. Regina. It isn't a permanent pain solution but it is working well. I look forward to the next one.
I'm new to the area, so I went in to get a back adjustment. First, they gave a big speech about the steps they take and the need for return visits, then I went to the billing office to get all set up before I was adjusted. Finally, I got an "adjustment". It was the quickest adjustment I've ever had. Seriously, less than 3 minutes. I just told them where I hurt and they popped it. I didn't feel there was much time spent making sure it was done right and that by aligning one side didn't make the other side mis-aligned. For example, I have a history of ribs being out of place. I mentioned it and he popped on side, but didn't make sure that by doing that, the other side popped out (which has happened in the past). Just pop this rib and you are done. Being a military dependent, I felt the office was all about keeping a revolving clients and cashing in on their tricare benefits. The staff were nice, but I felt taken advantage of.
I highly recommend this amazing group. The OSR team truly cares about their patients and their well being. The girls at the front desk are always personable and very helpful. PT and Rehab is always working with you to help you find the best exercises to minimize your pain and strengthen those weakened areas. The massage therapists do wonders on relieving the pain and tension in your muscles. I got adjusted during each of my appointments which was amazing, and the doctors on staff keep in touch with you to make sure you are getting the best treatment plan you can get. Absolutely love them!
