Favorite things about Ryan: He is thorough and listens. Above and beyond moment: He had hurt his leg in the months before our wedding but instead of cancelling he called in favors from two other photographers to ensure that all of the important moments were covered. He also took pictures on both film and digital and the results were amazing. Five stars, I'd recommend Ryan for any important occasion. Get your memories!
Let me begin by saying that Ryan is the best Photographer in Houston Texas. The only reason he isn't booked everyday of the year already is because he's from Hawaii and he's new to the Texas, because if he was a local I can garuntee he would be in every major bride magazine,etc. because he's just that good. He isn't awkward, weird, or anything else you might expect with a lot of other photographers. He makes the whole, quite frankly-awkward experience, considering most of us aren't models, extremely comfortable and painless. He makes it enjoyable by making you laugh the whole time and somehow manages to pose you without you even realizing he is, so your shots come out extremely natural.
With all of that aside, Ryan is a spectacular human being and takes customer service to the next level. He deeply cares whether you're happy with his work, and he's willing to do whatever it takes to make you happy or make anything right he can. When it comes to getting professional photographs done, he's exactly what superb service looks like, and I cannot say enough about how serious he takes his business. Just like the previous reviews said, he will do whatever it takes to do a great job (like showing up even when his foot was hurt on crutches) he paid for out of his own pocket New prints because the print company made a mistake- that wasn't his fault but he paid for over $100 because he wasn't willing to sweep the issue under he rug and not make it right. For ANY of your photography needs, Ryan is your guy. He's such a nice and great guy, we are going to have him take our engagement and wedding photo's and I'm sure whatever photo shoots we need after that. Words cannot describe how fantastically talented Ryan is. We are from England and was trying to arrange our wedding in Hawaii which was a huge challenge. We came across Ryan and we instantly feel in love with his work as well as his professional attitude which filled us with confidence. From start to finish we felt like a priority which you couldn't ask for anything more when planning your wedding. Ryan was in constant contact which again filled us with confidence, we Facetimed to discuss our requirements/vision due to being halfway around the world and Ryan had so many ideas for our shots it was inspiring. When we arrived in Hawaii Ryan took the time out to meet us to discuss timeline and he was very focused on making our shots perfect. Ryan and Joseph were amazing and they shot my wedding from us getting ready right up to our first dance. We were so comfortable with Ryan which ultimately showed in our shot. We now have our shots and these are breathtakingly BEAUTIFUL. Thank you RR Jones for making our day so perfect and capturing those very special moments. I really do hope our paths cross again!
He does specialize in Couples and he is phenomenal at that, but he does great single portraits also because he's a very well versed and versatile photographer. During my one shoot for my senior pictures for graduating college, he agreed to going to three different backgrounds for me and wow did he impress me with how different they all came out with the different ambience. He also carried around about 5 different separate camera's, not lenses, camera's, the entire photo shoot because he's that dedicated to getting different looks and filters. And he is such a good photographer that he knows the perfect angles and more importantly the lighting so that once he takes it, he doesn't have to edit the filter at all, which I really appreciate because they come out natural and realistic, and they don't look overdone!
Ryan did such a wonderful job of both our engagement and wedding photos. After having a difficult time finding a photographer who I felt like wasn't trying to sell me something I wasn't interested in or wasn't more involved in their own ideas more than my own, it was a relief to find Ryan. Ryan took the time to get to know myself and my husband and made us feel comfortable during the whole process, which shows in the pictures. Ryan has an artistic and beautiful way of capturing every moment in a way that takes you back to feeling all the goodness over and over again!

The candid shots were priceless.
Ryan was amazing. We told him we wanted candid shots that told to story of our wedding and that's exactly what we got and more. When we first starting planning our wedding we thought we'd ask friends to take pictures for us. Then I asked advice from other friends who had gotten married and everyone said the same thing - don't skimp on pictures, they're the only thing you'll have to remember all the details of the day. In spite of all the planning (which is significant, even for small weddings like ours), the day goes by so fast! I am so grateful I took their advice and got Ryan to do our photos. Not one moment was missed and he really captured the essence of the day.
