I took my friend visiting from out of town. We rented a two-man kayak and two surfboards. Kailua Beach Adventures made it so easy for us to have an awesome adventure!! We booked the kayak a couple hours ahead of time, so the time from when we got to the shop to when we got to the beach with all equipment in tow was super short. Brian checked us in immediately, showed us on google maps directions to the beach we wanted to go to, and took us to the video room where we watched a safety video for the kayak trip we wanted to take. By the time we finished the video, all the equipment and life vests were ready for us. The staff loaded up our truck and we went out to our destination. We had so much fun! Where are both very adventurous and like to fill our day, so we paddled out to an island, did some surfing, and paddled the kayak into a shallow reef wave where we got flipped (haha! bad idea), and did some of the best shallow water snorkeling I've ever experienced on Oahu in 12 years of living here. The reef was very young and there were so many live corals and schools of fish. Once we brought everything back it was as much as a breeze as checking everything out... highly recommend!!!
Although we were unable to physically kayak due to the large waves on the day we booked, we had a very goid experience with Kailua Beach Adventures. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with a large host of friendly staff. The facilities are well maintained and easy to use, and the staff were not only friendly, but very knowledgeable as well.
My college-age kids and I did the 5-hour adventure. It was exactly the experience we were looking for! There were plenty of thrills, but the guides' respect for nature and the relative lack of crowds made it magical. We were so lucky to get Po and Brian as our guides - very knowledgeable and friendly. If you have a decent fitness level (you don't have to be a great kayaker - they teach you!) or willingness to work hard, the reward is definitely worth it! Snorkel with the turtles, see a tide pool, kayak over coral,... wonderful!
The staff there was extremely nice and helpful. My wife and I did a self guided kayak tour and had an amazing time! They set you up with everything you need and give you some info on some great spots to hit while kayaking. Definitely a must do if you are looking for something to do.
The highlight for us was after our trip, when we accidentally left some (rather valuable) clothing after our trip. We had returned our car and were unable to make the 1.5 hour round trip to retrieve it, as we were also leaving O'ahu soon. However, with a simple phone call, they arranged the clothing to be brought to us to our hotel, that is 45 minutes away from the facility. Amazing and cooperative staff, very compassionate and understanding of our situation. Would highly recommend!
Great company! The staff was very knowledgable about everything. Reasonable prices for renting a double kayak for a 1/2 day. We kayaked out to flat island and it was beautiful! Next time we will definitely get there in the morning so we have enough time to go out to the mokes. I definitely recommend Kailua Beach Adventures if you're wanting to rent a kayak or any other equipment that they have to offer!
